During your stay, Orchard House provides 4 full time staff including a chef providing an exceptional level of service. Ari is your maître de and is your first point of contact for any questions or particular needs. Ari has lived on-site at Orchard house for 15 years and is an invaluable source of local knowledge. The staff can also organise Currency exchange, transport, massage, facials, post and almost any thing else you should need.
The kitchen provides a comprehensive menu of both western and local Sri Lankan specialties. Food can be tailored to suit your tastes or meals can be prepared from local seasonal produce. Although the service of meals is included in our rates, we ask that guests contribute to the ingredient costs based on their individual requirements.
Ari shops at the local markets daily and will ultimately purchase goods based on whatever the guests desire. This includes almost any foods from fresh fruit to fresh lobster.
Galle is exceptionally inexpensive and most foreign currencies will go far, particularly for general produce.
The staff are also on call if you wish to explore the local area. Guests can join Ari on his daily market trips and there is a Tuk Tuk onsite with driver if you wish to take a swim at one of the beaches, or visit the bars or restaurants around Galle. For larger groups or longer distances, cars or vans are easily acquired with drivers to travel further into the country side.
